WHAT BELONGING LOOKS LIKE

Members of the 9th PA portray the soldiers and civilians who served during the American Revolution. Whether your interests lie in military drill, historical interpretation, public education, or supporting camp life, there is a place for you within the unit.

The 9th PA is committed to presenting history as accurately as possible while creating an enjoyable and welcoming experience for members and visitors alike. While members are ultimately responsible for obtaining appropriate clothing and personal equipment, the unit can provide guidance, resources, and mentorship to help new reenactors build their impressions over time. Common camp equipment and shared resources are available to assist members as they get started.

The company participates in a variety of events throughout the year, including battle reenactments, historical commemorations, educational programs, community events, parades, and living history demonstrations. Members are encouraged to attend as many events as their schedules allow, though participation requirements are kept reasonable and family commitments always come first.

In addition to public events, members gather for regular meetings, drill days, and training opportunities throughout the year. These activities help us improve our historical knowledge, refine our portrayals, and strengthen the camaraderie that makes reenacting such a rewarding experience.

ALL ARE WELCOME

While we strive for authenticity in our portrayal of the eighteenth century, race, ethnicity, gender, and other personal characteristics do not determine the roles available to our members. Opportunities to portray soldiers, musicians, camp followers, and other historical roles are open to all participants based on their interests, commitment, and willingness to learn.

Our authenticity comes from the quality of our research, the accuracy of our impressions, and the knowledge we share with the public. We are committed to fostering a respectful, welcoming environment where everyone can participate in preserving and interpreting America's Revolutionary War history.
